Job summary

Peraton is seeking a cleared Junior Systems Engineer in Laurel, MD to join a large Cyber and Data Management program and grow with a skilled technical team.

You will create artifacts, draft performance strategies, and develop system requirements to meet client specs for compute, storage, and sustainment. A TS/SCI with polygraph is required and a technical degree or equivalent experience is needed.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field is required; four years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• Familiar with J-STD-016 and IEEE/EIA 12207 software life cycle processes.
• At least one year of software development experience meeting these standards.
• Understanding of agile and/or spiral development.
• A Security+ certification is required.

Responsibilities

Peraton has an immediate opportunity for a cleared Junior Systems Engineer to join our team here in Laurel, MD. This is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to join a large Cyber and Data Management program where they can continue to develop their skills and grow with our amazing technical team. As a Systems Engineer, you'll do the following tasks:

• Creator of program artifacts to include compliance, performance, and operational documentation
• Formulation and documentation of client performance strategies and initiatives
• Researched, drafted, designed and developed individual system requirements to meet client specifications of
• compute, storage, capability, capacity and sustainment.
• Create individual configuration, functional and system requirements for each system built in order to meet and
• exceed customer requirements
• Gather technical information, prepare written text
• Use Office tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field is required; NOTE: A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field. Without a degree, we can accept four (4) years of experience in development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software/system development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
• Familiar with the software development process described in the J-STD-016 and IEEE/EIA 12207, "Information technology-Software life cycle processes" and possesses at least one (l) year of experience developing software in accordance with these standards OR
  • Requirements analysis, modeling AND
  • Developing documentation required to support a program's technical issues and training
• Understanding of agile and/or spiral development
• A Security+ certification is required.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
