Job summary

Waymark is seeking a software engineer to ship features and fixes for its messaging platform built in Elixir. You will work across the stack, including React, TypeScript, and Elixir, and help set up a local development environment that mirrors production.

In this role you’ll participate in sprint planning, refine tasks in Jira, contribute to code reviews on GitHub, and communicate progress in daily standups.

Qualifications

• Some software development experience through work, internships, bootcamps, or substantial personal projects.
• Familiarity with at least one modern web application framework such as React, Next.js, or Phoenix.
• Experience with Git and version control workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ship features and fixes to Waymark's messaging platform built in Elixir.
• Work through bug tickets across the technology stack including React, TypeScript, and Elixir.
• Set up a local development environment mirroring production.
• Participate in sprint planning and refinement, managing tasks in Jira.
• Contribute to code reviews on GitHub and communicate progress in team standups.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, product, and design teams on feature planning.
• Work with PostgreSQL as part of the production data layer.
