Job summary

IBM Infrastructure is seeking a Software Developer in San Jose, CA to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software powering IBM’s infrastructure offerings across hybrid cloud, storage, data protection, automation and security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions and improve IT environments for clients.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, or similar.
• Understanding of software design principles, OOP, and data structures.
• Experience developing REST APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of source control systems such as Git.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle including requirements and deployment.
• Collaborate with product management, architects, QA, support and ops teams.
• Develop scalable, secure, and performant applications, services, APIs, and backend components.
• Troubleshoot defects and performance bottlenecks; resolve customer-reported issues.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Create and maintain technical docs, test plans, and procedures.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and propose improvements.
• Support agile processes and participate in standups and planning.
