Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking a Jr Software Developer to help build secure, end-to-end lifecycles in cloud environments with a focus on containerization using Kubernetes or Docker. You will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, GitOps deployments, and secure software delivery in a DoD-aligned setting.

You’ll collaborate with teams across engineering and security to design scalable solutions, apply automation, and support national security objectives. A secret clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Secret Clearance or above.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2 years’ experience developing web based applications.
• 2 years’ experience with Kubernetes or Docker.
• Experience with end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Gitlab CI and ArgoCD.
• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, React, TypeScript.
• Experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Experience with GitLab, Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Work across multiple technology stacks to support varied applications.
• Design, develop, and implement secure Kubernetes or Docker-based lifecycles.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines with focus on security and automation.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams on containerized solutions.
• Apply GitOps for automated deployment processes.
• Implement DevSecOps best practices across the development lifecycle.
• Ensure log management and analytics for system monitoring.
• Develop scripts to automate security checks and deployments.
• Leverage AWS and other clouds for reliability and security.
• Maintain infrastructure with IaC/CaC.
