Job summary

RailWorks Corporation, North America’s leading rail maintenance and infrastructure solutions provider, seeks a Junior Communications Systems Engineer to support the Communications Engineering team on rail-transit projects.

You will create and revise design drawings, translate sketches into technical documents, ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with engineers, PMs, and field staff. Willingness to travel to New York City boroughs is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Certification in CAD/Drafting.
• Familiar with CAD software such as Bentley/MicroStation, REVIT, SolidWorks.
• Familiar with project management and design workflow tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise design drawings and 3D models for rail-transit projects.
• Translate sketches, specifications, and calculations into detailed documents.
• Ensure drawings and models meet industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and field staff to support design development.
• Maintain organized digital drawing files and supporting documentation.
• Assist in producing IFC drawing packages and BOMs.
