Job summary

Aleto in Chicago is seeking a junior Quantitative Researcher to join our research team and help build our systematic US equity strategy. You will apply statistical analysis to data, design features, and backtest ideas, contributing directly to investment decisions.

Ideal candidate has 0–2 years in US equities, a PhD or MS in a quantitative field, strong Python or C++, and SQL experience. You’ll work independently and with the team in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in US equities.
• Ph.D. or M.S. in a quantitative field required.
• Proficiency in Python or C++, plus SQL.

Responsibilities

• Discover alphas in US equity markets using statistical analysis and backtesting.
• Participate in data analysis, alpha discovery, ML modelling, and portfolio attribution.
• Develop research infrastructure and tooling for data processing and idea generation.
• Evaluate new datasets for alpha potential and study current research literature.
• Collaborate with quant team members to advance research outputs.
