Position Overview

The Junior Project Manager / Coordinator supports the successful execution of projects from initiation through close‑out. This role assists senior project managers with organizing project elements, coordinating resources, tracking schedules and budgets, and maintaining project documentation. The Junior Project Manager also helps support client relationships and represents Precis with professionalism. This position works closely with senior project managers, technical staff, account managers, and the accounting team to ensure project requirements are delivered efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

Project Support + Coordination

  • Assist in coordinating multi‑discipline engineering teams on small projects or specific project phases within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and university markets.
  • Support senior project managers in defining project requirements and gathering customer needs.
  • Help prepare cost estimates, project scopes, and basic technical documentation under guidance.
  • Assist with assembling proposals and supporting materials in response to RFPs.

Planning + Resource Coordination

  • Contribute to identifying project tasks, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Support project scheduling by tracking progress, following up with team members, and updating schedule documents.
  • Help maintain project documentation, meeting notes, action items, and project files.

Client + Team Communication

  • Participate in internal and client meetings; assist in preparing presentation materials and status updates.
  • Maintain clear and timely internal communication between project teams and supervisors.
  • Represent Precis professionally when interacting with clients and partners.

Project Controls + Reporting

  • Assist in monitoring project budgets and gathering financial information for review by Senior Project Managers.
  • Help prepare project status reports by collecting and summarizing data.
  • Support efforts to ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and internal procedures, especially in GMP environments.

Quality + Technical Support

  • Coordinate the review of drawings, calculations, and specifications prepared by engineering disciplines.
  • Assist with quality checks and ensure proper documentation is followed.
  • Help identify and resolve basic project issues or elevate them appropriately.

Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in engineering or related technical field (preferred).
  • Professional license (e.g., PE) not required; working toward FE/EIT a plus.
  • 0–3 years of experience in engineering, construction, project coordination, or related industry.
  • Interest in building technical, financial, and project leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team-based, multi-discipline environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts; exposure to engineering or architecture environments a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with scheduling or project management tools is helpful.
  • Up to 10% travel.
