Job summary

CDM Smith in Greenville, NC is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. This role supports planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and project performance, working closely with project managers and teams to ensure on-time delivery and within budget.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree and practical knowledge of project management fundamentals, earned value, and cost control.

Qualifications

Supports compliance with internal procedures and updates project cost data.
Under direct supervision, maintains and analyzes critical path schedules for routine projects.
Generates earned value reports and drafts client/internal status reports.
Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project docs.
Performs other duties as required.

Responsibilities

Supports compliance with internal procedures such as federal/government regulations.
Develops time‑phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs; updates requirements as needed.
Monitors progress of project deliverables and performs routine analyses.
Drafts client and internal status reports to communicate cost status and trends.
Uses appropriate document management protocols to store and retrieve project documentation.
Performs other duties as required.
