Job summary

Ampac Fine Chemicals in Rancho Cordova, CA seeks a Process Scientist I to support plant production and develop processes for pharmaceutical ingredients. Work is supervised and aligned with Process Research and Development initiatives.

Minimum 0–1 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent). A PhD is preferred; degree in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry is expected. 0–2 years of industry experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 0-1 years of related experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• PhD (preferred) in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry; Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry
• 0 - 2 years of industry experience

Responsibilities

• Perform guided experiments in a timely manner.
• Assist technical team in production support.
• Contribute experimental writeups for weekly reports.
• Effectively participates in Process Research and Development meetings.
• Works under the supervision of Sr. Scientists to advance research and development projects.
• Thinks critically and creatively and is able to work independently and also in interdisciplinary groups.
• Must be able to work efficiently both individually and as a team, by sharing ideas, and adapting to change.
• Ability to solve problems and has strong organizational and planning skills.
