Job summary

jbtm is seeking an entry-level Process Engineer to support lead process engineers on projects and proposals. The role involves assisting with tasks under supervision, reading and understanding applicable codes and regulations, and applying calculations with established tools to support design activities.

Duties include creating P&IDs, gathering vendor information, producing proposal text and specifications, preparing equipment lists, and documenting meeting notes.

Qualifications

• Introductory knowledge of basic engineering and equipment design principles.
• Experience using full Microsoft Office suite of software.
• Experience using AutoCAD a plus.
• Eagerness and drive to learn practical and regulatory engineering practices.
• Strong integrity to support ethical engineering decisions.
• Agility to work outside of comfort zone in OEM and product manufacturing environments.
• Service orientation and willingness to help clients and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Execute project tasks under direction of more experienced engineers.
• Perform calculations with established tools and methods for heat and mass transfer and fluid mechanics.
• Create and maintain P&IDs based on information from experienced engineers.
• Gather detailed information on vendor supplied components.
• Generate proposal text, specifications, narratives, and other documentation.
• Prepare lists and schedules for equipment, instruments and components for estimates and orders.
• Check documents for grammar and clerical accuracy.
• Capture meeting minutes and notes to document customer needs and changes.
• Read and comprehend production and fabrication codes and standards (e.g., ASME, IPC, IBC, OSHA, FDA).
• Travel up to 15%.
