Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking an Analyst to join the West Power Trading Desk, supporting quantitative analysis, modeling, and market research. The role targets recent graduates or those with up to two years of experience, reporting to the Head of the West Power Desk and assisting trading activities.

Responsibilities include developing tools, analyzing market data, and applying statistical methods to pricing analysis while collaborating with traders to improve desk processes and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language
• Understanding of statistics and quantitative methods
• Knowledge of options pricing and derivatives concepts
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Support the West Power Trading Desk through quantitative analysis and market research
• Develop and maintain analytical tools, models, and workflows to support trading decisions
• Analyze market data, identify trends, and assist in evaluating trading opportunities
• Apply statistical methods and quantitative techniques to market and pricing analysis
• Collaborate with traders and other stakeholders to enhance desk processes and performance
• Contribute to various projects related to market analytics, risk analysis, and trading strategy development
