Job summary

DEKA Research & Development is seeking a Junior Plastics Engineer to develop plastic components used in medical products. You will work with a team to advance plastics assembly processes, selection of materials, and prototype development.

You will coordinate with internal and external manufacturing teams, lead supplier relationships for molding and tooling, and help create robust manufacturing stations for high-volume production. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in plastics, manufacturing or related engineering field with plastics experience.
• Understanding of plastics materials including medical grade materials.
• Hands-on experience with plastic molding and associated tooling.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to development team as a plastics expert and guide process development.
• Coordinate transfer to high volume manufacturing and ensure manufacturability.
• Source external suppliers for molding, tooling, assembly equipment and materials.
