Qualifications

• 0-1 year of animal related experience, shelter volunteering or pet sitting preferred.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred.
• Genuine passion for animals and desire to pursue grooming as a career.
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices.
• Ability to handle pets of all sizes with care and empathy.
• Good verbal and written communication with pet parents and team.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, perform limited grooming tasks including bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Ensure the well-being and safety of every animal in salon at all times.
• Interact professionally with pet parents, provide excellent customer service, and resolve inquiries.
• Maintain a clean grooming area and sanitize tools per policy.
• Schedule grooming appointments, manage paperwork, and maintain records.
• Learn and follow Petco grooming policies and standards to ensure safety and quality.

Education

High-school diploma or GED

0-1 year animal-related experience
