Petco is seeking a Junior Groomer in Danbury, CT for a part-time role beginning with a ten-week training program. You will learn bathing, drying, nail trimming and other grooming basics under the guidance of experienced groomers.

The position emphasizes safety, empathy with pets, and friendly customer service to pet parents. Ideal candidates have 0-1 year animal-related experience and a genuine passion for animals.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of animal related experience, including shelter volunteering or pet sitting, preferred
• Genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming
• Effective verbal and written communication with pet parents and team
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the grooming schedule

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning and gland cleaning according to owner instructions
• Ensure the safety and well-being of every animal in the salon at all times
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide exceptional customer service
• Maintain a clean, sanitized grooming area and tools according to Petco hygiene policies
• Schedule grooming appointments, manage paperwork, and keep accurate grooming records
• Learn and adhere to Petco grooming policies and standards to ensure safety, quality and consistency
