Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking technical advisors for its Patent Prosecution practice in our Austin, New York, San Diego, and Seattle offices. The program welcomes candidates with degrees in STEM fields who wish to become patent agents and begin full-time work in June 2027, with mentorship and career development throughout.

From day one, patent agents draft and prosecute patent applications, collaborating with attorneys to build legal skills within a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, mechanical engineering, and/or biomedical engineering.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent references.
• Interest in becoming a patent agent and available to start full-time in June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
• Work side-by-side with attorneys and other legal personnel to develop legal skills.
• Participate in professional development and mentorship programs.
