Job summary

ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Junior NOC Network Administrator to support day‑to‑day operations of network and server infrastructure in a fast‑paced federal IT environment.

You will monitor servers and core services, follow runbooks for patching and backups, document configurations and incidents, and collaborate with network and security teams to ensure reliable, highly available systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years in junior sysadmin, NOC support or similar roles.
• Foundational understanding of system administration incl. file permissions, basic networking.
• Training or experience with system monitoring tools, ticketing, backup solutions, and virtualization.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, able to document configurations and incidents.
• Candidates must be US citizens with a current SECRET clearance (active within last 24 months).
• Current Security+ or DoD 8180 IAT-II certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor servers, operating systems, and core services using monitoring and ticketing tools, reviewing alerts and updating tickets.
• Execute standard operating procedures for routine system administration tasks, including patching, configuration changes, restarts, backup verification, and user/group management.
• Assist with troubleshooting common system issues and escalate incidents beyond runbook guidance.
• Maintain accurate system documentation for audits and repeatable operations.
• Participate in coordinated incident response, backup and security monitoring tasks.
• Collaborate with network and security teams to gather diagnostics and validate restoration of services.
• Support adherence to incident, change and configuration management processes.
