Job summary

Secunetics is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to interface with our team and clients, helping assess IT infrastructures, establish baselines and identify opportunities for optimization. This highly visible, client-facing role requires clear communication and problem-solving skills.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in CS/EE/CE with at least 1 year of network administration experience and familiarity with routing protocols, security protocols, and scripting in Python or Bash.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in CS/EE/CE.
• 1+ years of network administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of LDAP, SAML, OAuth 2.0, SSH, SFTP, SCP, SNMPv3, Netflow, SMTP.
• Experience automating reporting or tasks with Python and Bash.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline processes.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, traffic analysis, TAPs, traffic brokers.
• Solid understanding of routing (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, EVPN).
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.

We are looking for a team member with the following skills:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
• 1+ years of network administration
• Solid understanding of infrastructure protocols such as LDAP, SAML, OAuth 2.0, SSH, SFTP, SCP, SNMPv3, Netflow, SMTP.
• Experience automating data reporting or operational tasks with scripting languages (including Python and Bash).
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline processes.
• Solid understanding of other networking technologies (including TCP/IP, traffic analysis, TAPs, traffic brokers)
• Solid understanding of routing technologies (including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, EVPN)
• Solid understanding of technology concepts such as SDLC, systems engineering, IT performance management, IT operations, operational monitoring, security monitoring, and KPI
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical writing

If you have any of the following, it would be a bonus:

• Active US Secret or Top Secret clearance
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Bash
• CCNA and/or CCNP certifications
• Experience in packet analysis (Wireshark)
• Familiarity with ITILv3 concepts especially Service Operations
