Job summary

Designers work with 3D models and a strong understanding of the 3D model environment, with mentoring and training provided to grow design and technical skills. Positions support multiple areas within ET&D, including submarine and aircraft carrier design, with on-site work and adherence to

Qualifications

• Must have Associate's Degree with 0 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalency options include High School/GED with 2 years related experience.
• Equivalency options include High School/GED with 4 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilize 3D tools to create detailed models and annotations for manufacturing trades.
• Create, update, and maintain 3D models for ship systems, structures, and components using CAD software (Siemens NX, AutoCAD, CATIA).
• Interpret sketches, specifications, and data to produce accurate design deliverables.
• Assist with design changes, revisions, and redlines based on feedback.
• Support development of detailed arrangements, fabrication, and installation drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with NNS design standards and Navy/regulatory requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Maintain proper configuration control of all design documentation.
• Learn and apply shipbuilding terminology and modeling practices.
