Job summary

Job description

A multidisciplinary environmental services firm is seeking a Staff Geologist or Environmental Scientist to support field investigations and remediation projects across Colorado. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong field capabilities, and experience managing tasks within environmental programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with environmental project activities, with strategic guidance from senior team members.
  • Develop well‑organized, technically sound work plans that address site‑specific data objectives.
  • Coordinate and implement field activities, including scheduling, subcontractor support, staff briefings, and sample collection.
  • Conduct field investigations and independently prepare detailed, QA/QC‑focused technical reports.
  • Interpret environmental and geological data, develop graphics and figures, identify additional data needs, and contribute to the development of site conceptual models.
  • Provide mentorship and task guidance to junior team members to ensure quality execution of field and reporting tasks.
  • Track project budgets, evaluate cost performance, and support financial decision‑making.
  • Communicate project updates, schedules, and compliance requirements to clients, regulatory entities, and other stakeholders.
  • Follow all health, safety, environmental, and contractual requirements throughout project execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely aligned discipline.
  • 4-6 years of experience in environmental consulting, including fieldwork and office‑based responsibilities.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to produce complete technical deliverables independently.
  • Familiarity with Colorado environmental regulations.
  • Experience with environmental permitting, resource assessments, wetland delineation, species evaluations, or environmental sampling is a plus.
  • Professional licensure in Colorado (PG or PE) is advantageous but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and geological logging or cross‑sectioning software.
