Job summary

CACI is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support NSWC Crane, contributing to the design, drafting and analysis of shipboard mechanical systems and outfitting. You will generate drawings, model machinery and prepare technical documents for approval.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree and the ability to work with Navy standards, with travel limited to 10% and US citizenship for security clearance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in engineering (BSME/BSCE/BSNA/ME) required.
• Ability to write clear reports, specifications and white papers.
• Ability to interface with team members, leads and PMs; work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with US Navy and/or US commercial ship design standards.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; able to create CAD models in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering services including spec writing, design and mechanical calculations.
• Generate mechanical drawings for systems and outfitting.
• Draft detailed multi-view drawings of systems, machinery spaces and products.
• Create CAD models and machinery arrangements in AutoCAD for installation/removal.
• Travel up to 10% to support field activities and reviews.
• Communicate clearly with the project team and customers.
