Job summary

Leidos seeks a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support critical national security missions in Reston, VA. You will analyze facility designs, spatial layouts, workflows, and supporting infrastructure to determine capabilities and mission relevance.

Work with engineers, analysts, and government personnel on mission-critical assessments. The role emphasizes problem solving with incomplete information, rigorous engineering thinking, and precise documentation of assumptions and gaps as you contribute

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with <2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in facility analysis, infrastructure vulnerability assessments, and mechanical engineering within DoD/IC environments.
• MEP systems knowledge: design, integration, and operation in complex facilities.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and data sources.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer and characterize facility layouts within denied-access environments.
• Evaluate vulnerabilities, single points of failure, and mission impacts.
• Create high-fidelity 3D models and run engineering simulations.
• Assess MEP integration and infrastructure functionality.
• Translate data and assessments into technical reports and BIM/CAD deliverables for DoD stakeholders.
