Job summary

KBR’s Missile, Aviation, and Ground Systems (MAGS) division seeks a Junior Mechanical Engineer to design and document modifications for multiple US DoD customers in a fast-paced environment. Under supervision, you will create mechanical designs, drawings, and documentation to support aircraft modifications.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and have 0–3 years of design experience, with a preference for SolidWorks and knowledge of GD&T.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited program.
  • 0–3 years experience designing and documenting Mechanical Systems.
  • Existing SECRET clearance, or ability to obtain SECRET clearance, is required.

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Assists more senior Mechanical Engineers in designing larger, more complex tasks.
  • Assists in on-site engineering surveys of customer aircraft.
  • Supports installations of new and modified equipment onto existing customer aircraft.

Job Summary

Are you a recent graduate looking to start your career in the exciting field of Aerospace and Defense? KBR is looking for a highly self-motivated Mechanical Engineering graduate to design and document modifications for multiple US DoD Customers in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will, under supervision, create mechanical designs, drawings, and applicable Mechanical Engineering documentation to support multiple aircraft

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Assists more senior Mechanical Engineers in the design of larger and more complex design tasks which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features.
  • Assists more senior Mechanical Engineers in the performance of on-site Engineering Surveys of customer aircraft
  • Under direct supervision, supports installations of new and modified equipment onto existing customer aircraft
Basic Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited degree program
  • 0 to 3 years experience designing and documenting Mechanical Systems
  • Existing SECRET clearance, or ability to obtain a SECRET clearance, is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Solid Works
  • Ability to read and interpret typical Mechanical Engineering documentation (i.e. mechanical drawings, weight and balance reports, structural loads analyses, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to read and apply Military, ASME, ASE Specifications as they relate to Mechanical Design
  • Knowledge of GD&T practices and application
  • Experience PDM or other PLM tools
  • Experience with US Army aviation
