We are seeking motivated Junior M&O Project Managers to support facility construction, modernization, environmental abatement, and repair projects across our portfolio of educational and administrative facilities. This role is ideal for candidates eager to grow their experience in project management, environmental coordination, and construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, processing, and expediting construction, modernization, installation, and repair projects.
• Serve as liaison between project management teams, maintenance divisions, environmental consultants, and abatement contractors.
• Review Requests for Assistance (RFAs), define scope, and analyze project drawings.
• Conduct initial funding line reviews and coordinate with accounting teams for proper funding allocation; prepare funding request packages.
• Plan and track project progress, including labor hours and job milestones.
• Request and evaluate cost proposals from environmental consultants for accuracy and feasibility.
• Assist technical staff in estimating costs for asbestos and lead abatement activities.
• Initiate and manage Asbestos Abatement, Lead Remediation, A&B Contracts, Task Orders, and JOC Contracts.
• Coordinate asbestos and lead abatement schedules prior to demolition or renovation activities, ensuring safe temporary housing for affected staff and students.
• Review contractor submittals, daily logs, and certified payroll records for invoice approval.
• Analyze change order requests and validate their merit and cost impact.
• Support project closeout and certification processes.
• Prepare bid requests, justification documentation, and monitor contract award processes.
• Maintain and update project tracking sheets.
• Attend Job Start meetings to review safety, asbestos, and lead requirements, ensuring minutes and communications are accurately recorded.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of full‑time, paid experience in project or construction management.
• Experience in educational facility or public agency construction projects preferred.
• Experience should include pre‑construction planning, construction progress monitoring, and project closeout.
• Experience with safety protocols, Cal/OSHA, and environmental procedures is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Environmental Science.
• Candidates without a degree may substitute required education with year‑for‑year professional experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Maximo (Asset & Work Management System) is highly desirable.
