Job summary

JE Dunn Construction Company is seeking an entry‑level M/E Engineer 1 to join the Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. You will support safety, quality, and budget activities while learning M/E processes across multiple project stages.

Based in a national footprint, the role offers coaching and hands‑on experience with design review, shop drawings, commissioning, and coordination with field teams.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years construction experience and/or summer internship/co‑op experience in construction (Preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or architectural engineering (Required) or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with safety and quality plans and constructability review.

Responsibilities

• Learns and actively participates in safety and quality plans and culture.
• Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
• Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates using automated M/E estimating system.
• Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and conducts systems analysis.
• Learns to develop M/E scopes of work for bid coordination.
• Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection input.
• Assists in sequencing requirements of systems to meet schedules.
• Gains knowledge of design documents to identify quality problems for constructability reviews.
• Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specs are met.
• Learns and assists with shop drawing/submittal process.
• Assists with commissioning, including pre-functional checklists and testing.
