Job summary

Scott Byron & Co. is seeking a Junior Landscape Architect/Designer to join our Design Studio.

You will support the development of thoughtful, creative, and constructible landscape design solutions for residential and commercial projects, under guidance from senior architects and designers, project managers, and design consultants. The role covers site analysis, conceptual design, design development, drafting, planting design, construction documents, and permitting, with opportunities to assist

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture required.
• 3–7 years of professional experience in landscape architecture or related field.
• Understanding of residential and/or commercial landscape design principles.
• Knowledge of plant and hardscape materials; planting design experience preferred.
• Strong hand graphics skills are required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; LandFX experience preferred; SketchUp and Photoshop a plus.
• Bid procurement and estimating experience preferred; Aspire or other estimating software a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior designers and project managers through all phases of the design process from concept through construction documentation and installation.
• Participate in on-site project meetings and collaborate with sales, construction, and property improvement teams.
• Assist with interpretation of permit requirements and applications.
• Manage multiple projects delivering design-driven solutions with hand sketches, AutoCAD drawings, renderings and graphics.
• Support estimating by gathering project information, quantities, pricing, and bids.
• Assemble construction proposals including scope, pricing, alternates, and documentation.
• Develop relationships with industry professionals through associations and networking.
