Job summary

Experis is seeking a Junior Lab Engineer in Richardson, Texas, to support lab environments used by Global Tech Services. You will install new devices, configure routers and switches, and troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced lab setting.

The role requires strong foundational networking knowledge, experience with VLANs, VMware, and network testing tools, and the ability to work on-site in Richardson. This position offers a $21 per hour W2 rate and opportunities to learn in a global lab environment.

Job description

Experis has a Junior Lab Engineer opening in Richardson, Texas. This team maintains labs worldwide. These labs are used by Technical Services to setup equipment and software to recreate and debug issues for all of our client's customers and constitute a critical central component for delivering world-class service to all customers.

You will be installing new devices & equipment in the Lab which houses test beds for global enterprise clients. You will work “Cases” from a queue, requested by senior Engineers who are working directly with those clients. This could mean standing up a new environment, adding to an existing environment, or troubleshooting performance issues.

In order to do this, you will need a very strong understanding of Layer 1 & 2 Networking, and how to install, connect and troubleshoot a variety of devices and equipment.
Position: Junior Lab Engineer
Location: Richardson, TX (On-site)
Rate: $21 per hour W2

• Foundational networking knowledge & experience, including network topologies & troubleshooting
• Performing basic router and switching configuration tasks

• Use networking test tools such as IXIA or Spirent.
• VLAN configuration
• Use VMware

• Configuring and troubleshooting with Catalyst, Nexus and XR products
• Utilize Packet Tracer
