Job summary

DESIGN BUILD LA is seeking a junior Interior Designer to support the design team from concept through construction. You will produce floor plans, elevations, and construction documents using AutoCAD, and build 3D models in SketchUp to help communicate design ideas.

Ideal candidates bring 1–3 years of industry experience, a degree in Interior Design, strong knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp, and the ability to coordinate with contractors and vendors on site visits to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Design or related field (CIDA-accredited preferred).
• 1–3 years of industry experience.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Working knowledge of construction documents, fixtures, and finishes.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Create floor plans, elevations, and construction documents in AutoCAD.
• Build 3D models and presentations in SketchUp.
• Assist with fixture, finish, and material selections and schedules.
• Visit job sites to monitor progress, check work against drawings, and flag issues.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and the design team to keep schedules on track.
• Support construction planning and help keep project documentation up to date.
