Job summary

Hunter Engineering Inc. is seeking a motivated Junior/Instrument Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations in Dallas, TX. This role offers hands-on experience with diverse projects and opportunities for growth within our surveying division.

You will lead 2-3 person crews, operate robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS, and data collectors, and perform boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys while maintaining field notes and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering Technology preferred.
  • 2-4 years of field surveying experience.
  • Working knowledge of surveying principles, methods, and boundary law.
  • Proficiency operating total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and data collectors.
  • Experience with Trimble, Leica, or similar survey equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and survey plats.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to carry equipment and work on uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • SIT, CST, or LSI certification
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or surveying software
  • Working toward surveying degree or licensure
