Job summary

East Lansing Public Schools seeks a Boys Basketball Head Coach – 7th Grade to lead the basketball program at MacDonald Middle School. You will oversee practices, games, and tournaments, coordinate transportation, and ensure athlete development in skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

The role requires middle school coaching experience, knowledge of basketball, and the ability to mentor students while following district policies and athletic codes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basketball rules and rule changes.
• Experience coaching at middle school level.
• Ability to teach basketball skills and strategies.
• Teaching and motivational abilities are desirable.
• Tournament basketball background is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the high school interscholastic basketball program
• Schedule practices around facilities and equipment
• Coordinate transportation with the Athletic Office
• Enforce codes of conduct and supervise practices and games
• Manage equipment, uniforms, and inventory
• Attend MSAA events and comply with regulations
• Provide preseason parent/coach meeting
