Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Junior GIS Developer for our Tampa, FL office with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office).

Join our Geospatial and Technology Services team to build geospatial solutions for government and commercial clients using Esri and custom frameworks. A BA/BS in a relevant field with 0–3 years of experience and skills in Python, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and React are required. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, GIS or related field with 0-3 years of experience.
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and/or React.
  • Desire to grow as a GIS developer and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in an agile team using Git/GitHub.
  • U.S. citizen capable of passing a federal background investigation for Public Trust.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior developers to create internal and client-facing geospatial solutions.
  • Perform needs assessments to identify application and visualization requirements.
  • Design data schemas.
  • Develop user acceptance testing and documentation.
  • Maintain and support applications according to changing requirements.
  • Work on consulting projects for government and commercial clients.
  • Participate in testing, supporting, and deploying tools and preparing technical documentation.

Dewberry is currently seeking a Junior GIS Developer for our Fairfax, VA or Tampa, FL office. This is a hybrid role with 3 days expected in office.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, GIS or other relevant geospatial or data science related field with 0-3 years of professional experience
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and/or React
  • Desire to grow as a GIS developer
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, verbal and written communication, design development, and debugging skills
  • Ability to work independently using strong organizational skills and operate effectively in team settings using an agile software development approach and tools like Git/GitHub
  • Be a U.S. citizen capable of passing a federal background investigation to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with ArcGIS Enterprise and Azure or AWS systems.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $81,000-$104,000 annually in our Tampa, FL office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
