Job summary

The Vanguard Group is seeking a Security Pricing Analyst to support the valuation of securities across Vanguard funds and investment products. You will work with market data, research pricing exceptions, and collaborate with teams to deepen your knowledge of financial markets and security valuation.

In this hybrid role, you’ll perform daily, weekly, and monthly pricing duties, analyze discrepancies, and contribute to process improvements while building expertise across asset classes and pricing

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Relevant experience in security pricing, fund accounting, investment operations, financial services, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and security valuation concepts.
• Experience researching pricing discrepancies or other financial data exceptions and determining appropriate resolution.
• Working knowledge of financial and market-data technologies such as Bloomberg, LSEG/Reuters, Microsoft Excel, and other investment or pricing applications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently meet operational deadlines while managing multiple responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with team members, management, and internal and external business partners.
• Strong relationship-management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to the development and implementation of solutions.
• Experience participating in projects or business initiatives, including testing, documentation, process implementation, or change-management activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to organize and communicate pricing research, issues, and recommendations clearly.
• Ability to work effectively across teams and locations and support broader Fund Accounting and Security Pricing initiatives.
• Experience with Fixed Income, Corporate Actions, OTC Derivatives, or other complex security types is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Researches, analyzes, and determines security valuations to support timely and accurate pricing of securities and foreign exchange rates held within domestically and internationally domiciled mutual funds, Separately Managed Accounts, and institutional products.
• Reviews and analyzes pricing exceptions, market data, vendor information, and other relevant information to identify and resolve security valuation issues.
• Performs daily, weekly, and monthly Security Pricing responsibilities while ensuring established deadlines, quality standards, and controls are met.
• Develops working knowledge across multiple security types, asset classes, pricing methodologies, and Security Pricing processes.
• Partners with internal and external stakeholders to research and resolve pricing-related questions and issues.
• Participates in projects and business initiatives impacting Security Pricing, including testing, documentation, and post-implementation support.
• Identifies opportunities to improve Security Pricing processes, controls, documentation, and operational efficiency.
• Supports team knowledge and operational coverage by maintaining procedures and documentation and assisting with training.
• Supports Security Pricing controls and risk-management activities by reviewing pricing exceptions and escalating issues as needed.
• Develops knowledge of assigned processes and markets and stays aware of regulatory developments that may impact Security Pricing.
• Supports implementation of new securities, products, markets, or investment strategies by assisting with pricing research and vendor reviews.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
