Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, 1–3 years of accounting experience, and proficiency with Excel and accounting software. SAIPA/SAICA articles are advantageous.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Controller to support the finance department at their Paarl location. This entry-level management role involves assisting with financial reporting, general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable oversight, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting entries.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Support the reconciliation of bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Completed or in progress professional qualification (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA articles) is advantageous.
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting or a related finance role.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
