Job summary

DBI Construction Consultants LLC is offering a 10-week Summer internship for aspiring Junior Estimators across multiple US locations, including Atlanta. You will work with seasoned estimators and project managers to learn how damage assessment projects are measured, documented, and presented, visiting site locations to collect data and compile cost estimates.

The Experience ends with a Capstone presentation to a small panel and a Team Leader review for potential future employment opportunities. Our goal is to hire 90% of Junior Estimators into entry-level permanent opportunities after completion of their degrees.LocationWe are seeking Junior Estimators for a 10-week, 2027 Summer internship program across a dozen office locations throughout the US including: Atlanta, Chicago (Inverness), Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Riverside (CA), and San Antonio. Please indicate your preferred location(s) when applying.The OpportunityAs a Junior Estimator, you will work alongside seasoned Estimators and Project Managers to learn how damage assessment projects are measured, documented, and presented. You will gain in-person experience from visiting project sites to gather data and collaborate with team members in the local office to learn how to prepare cost estimates. This is a paid internship offering between $20.00 - 27.50 per hour depending on education and experience.Core ResponsibilitiesAssist with site visits to collect measurements, photos, and project details.Support the analysis of labor, materials, and timelines for project estimates.Help track costs and flag differences between projected and actual figures.Learn to prepare professional reports and data entries in estimating tools.Gain exposure to industry software like Xactimate and Bluebeam Revu.What You BringCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the AEC field such as civil engineering or construction management.Strong career interest in construction consulting, estimating, and project management.Comfortable working full time in both office and field environments.Willingness to travel locally and work within or atop damaged buildings, including roofs.Physical Activities and RequirementsIn addition to the working conditions and associated physical activities and requirements above, the incumbent may be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, or feel, especially in the course of investigating and assessing property damage; these requirements may include the need to lift weights of up to 50 pounds, including a ladder, and climb ladders upwards of 30 feet.The work requires close visual acuity, with or without correction, to prepare reports containing words, symbols, and numerical figures; the incumbent is required to view a computer terminal, use a keyboard, read printed documents, make detailed visual inspections, perceive color, perceive depth, and have a sufficient field of vision to carry out all inspection and related duties.DBI Construction Consultants is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
