Atlantic Fence & Supply, a Baltimore-area fence supply and installation company, is hiring a sharp Junior Estimator to join our estimating team and learn the business from the ground up. No fence experience is required, but it helps.

You will grow through hands-on training and have a clear path to more senior roles. You'll work with the Commercial Estimator and VP of Sales to create takeoffs, build quotes, manage supplier orders, and support the installation team.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Excel and Google Sheets; willingness to learn new software.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to walk job sites in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Create takeoffs from site visits, sketches, plans, and maps.
• Calculate project quantities and requirements from plans.
• Build accurate quotes using estimating software.
• Manage material and parts orders from vendors.
• Join senior estimators on site visits to measure and assess obstacles.
• Follow up on open quotes with customers and contractors.
• Hand off signed jobs to install crews with clear scopes and lists.
• Keep estimate files, pricing, and records organized.
• Assist with customer orders at the counter when needed.

About Us

Atlantic Fence & Supply has been one of Baltimore's leading Fence Supply and Commercial/Residential Fencing installation companies for over 40 years. Family owned & operated, we're looking to grow our commercial estimating team to service more customers.We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our estimating team and learn the business from the ground up (no fence experience required, but it's a huge plus!).

What You'll Do

• Work alongside Commercial Estimator and VP of Sales to create takeoffs (job breakdowns) from site visits, customer sketches, plans, and aerial/satellite maps.
• Calculate project quantities & requirements in accordance with Project Plans.
• Build accurate, competitive quotes using our proprietary fence estimating software.
• Managing material and parts order requests from multiple vendors.
• Join Senior Estimators on site visits to measure, check grade, and spot obstacles such as slopes, rock, utilities, and tree lines.
• Follow up with customers and contractors on open quotes.
• Hand off signed jobs to the install crew with clear scopes and material lists.
• Keep estimate files, pricing, and job records organized.
• Assist with customer orders at the counter on an as-needed basis.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Strong Attention to Detail, Organization and Analytical skills.
• Robust time management capabilities to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects.
• Comfortable with Excel & Google Sheets, and open to learning new software.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to walk job sites in all weather.

Preferred (not required)

• 0 to 2 years in estimating, construction, landscaping, or a related trade.
• Ability to read site plans or property surveys at a basic level.
• Experience with estimating or takeoff software (e.g., BlueBeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
• Basic knowledge of fence materials and installation methods.
• Construction or trades coursework/experience.
