Job summary

We Are RAM Construction Ltd is seeking a Junior Estimator to support cost estimates, conduct site visits, and interact with customers as the face of the company.

You will prepare estimates, analyse drawings and specs, liaise with suppliers, update cost databases, and collaborate with project management to keep budgets on track. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical abilities are required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and estimating software is preferred.

Junior Estimator

This role is ideal for someone with experience in the construction industry who has strong people and communication skills, is computer-literate, and highly punctual. The Junior Estimator will play a key role in preparing cost estimates, conducting site visits, and interacting with customers as the face of the company to provide a professional first impression.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine costs
• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and quotations
• Conduct site visits and surveys to assess project requirements and gather necessary data
• Interact with customers professionally, representing the company and ensuring a positive first impression
• Support the senior estimator in developing detailed bid proposalsMaintain and update cost databases, material pricing, and labour costs
• Collaborate with the project management team to ensure budget compliance
• Ensure estimates are completed in a timely manner to meet deadlines

Requirements

• Previous experience in construction, estimating, or a related field (preferred)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Professional and customer-focused attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and estimating software (preferred)
• Highly organised with great attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Punctual, reliable, and eager to learn and grow in the role

• If using a personal vehicle during the probation period, mileage will be reimbursed
