Job summary

Keramida Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to support field and office work on wetlands and streams, environmental permitting, and natural resource assessments. You will gain hands-on experience under senior scientists and project managers on multidisciplinary projects.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, eagerness to learn regulatory frameworks, field methods, and safety and quality. This position may involve travel to project sites and field measurements as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience; internships, field coursework, or lab experience considered
  • Basic understanding of wetland delineation methodology and Clean Water Act regulations preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with GIS/GPS software (e.g., ArcGIS, Trimble) a plus
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team

Responsibilities

  • Assist with wetland and stream delineations in accordance with USACE and applicable state methodologies
  • Support field data collection, including soil sampling, vegetation identification, and hydrology indicators
  • Assist with environmental site assessments, habitat assessments, and threatened & endangered species surveys as needed
  • Operate GPS/GNSS equipment and support GIS mapping for project data collection
  • Record accurate, complete field notes, photographs, and data logs
  • Support crew adherence to safety protocols, including PPE requirements and site-specific hazards
  • Assist in preparing permit applications, delineation reports, and supporting technical documentation
  • Conduct research on applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., Clean Water Act Sections 401/404)
  • Support senior scientists with agency coordination, correspondence, and submittal tracking
  • Assist with GIS mapping, data management, and quality review of project deliverables
  • Support project managers with scheduling, task tracking, and deliverable timelines
  • Communicate professionally with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors as directed
  • Complete timely and accurate time and expense reporting
