Job summary

Sterling Labs, a DoD-accredited environmental laboratory, seeks a Laboratory Technician for Organic Extractions to perform soil and water sample prep, analysis, and testing per SOPs. You will use turbovaps, nitrogen evaporation, centrifuges, and other lab equipment while contributing to quality control.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, or biology, strong analytical skills, and the ability to learn LIMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, or biology is required.
• Strong analytical skills and high level of organization.
• Ability to learn and use Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
• Prepare samples, dilutions and splits for analysis according to SOP.
• Prepare and label reagents and standards; complete lab paperwork in logbooks and bench sheets.
• Dispose of samples per SOP; maintain and clean equipment.
• Communicate workload status and data quality issues to supervisor.
• Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the department Team Lead.
