The Veterans Health Administration in Syracuse, NY is seeking a junior Electrician in the Facilities Management Service, Electric Shop. You will assist journeymen with troubleshooting, installation, and repair of electrical equipment.

Responsibilities include installation/maintenance of secondary distribution up to 240 volts, reading wiring diagrams, and using standard trade tools. Schedule is Mon-Fri 6:30am–3:00pm with rotating evenings; occasional physical lifting is required.

Qualifications

• Assists journeymen in electrical work including troubleshooting, installation, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Familiar with reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Able to lift/move tools and parts up to 20–40 pounds as needed.

Responsabilités

• Assist journeymen in troubleshooting, installation, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Assist in install and maintenance of secondary distribution systems up to 240 volts for lighting and equipment.
• Work with wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints; use hand/power tools.
• Perform grounds maintenance, snow removal, and laborer tasks when assigned.
