Job summary

Candidates With a Future is seeking an early-career electrical engineer to help prepare and maintain electrical documentation for automated equipment and production systems. You will work with the Controls Engineering Manager and seasoned engineers, completing design work and building knowledge of machine electrical standards using AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities include planning, creating electrical deliverables, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, and ensuring documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, with 0–2 years of machine electrical design experience.
• Associate degree with at least 3 years of directly relevant machine electrical design experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of directly relevant experience.
• Practical ability to create and read machine electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Plan work with manager and mentors, track deadlines and raise questions promptly.
• Develop machine electrical designs balancing safe operation, reliability, serviceability, ease of fabrication, and installed cost.
• Prepare electrical deliverables from requirements using guidance.
• Produce and revise schematics, enclosure layouts, distribution and network drawings, I/O documentation, BOMs, and installation details in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Document power distribution, motors and drives, control and safety circuits, grounding, and field wiring within scope.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical and controls engineers, purchasing, production, quality, panel builders, and service personnel.
• Review drawings, record decisions, and resolve comments before release.
• Maintain drawing revisions in the product data management system and support ISO 9001 processes.
• Assist with panel construction, wiring, testing, installation, and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Update operating manuals with parts data, inspection instructions, and troubleshooting guidance.
• Travel as required and obtain/retain U.S. government security clearance.
