Job summary

Lars Langberg Architects in Sebastopol, California is seeking a Junior Designer (0–4 years) who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in our design-focused studio.

From concept through construction administration, you will develop BIM models in Archicad, produce construction documents, assist with site analysis and material research, and prepare client presentations using Adobe Creative Suite. Recent grads encouraged; mentoring toward licensure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or professional degree in architecture and relevant coursework.
  • 0–4 years of professional architectural experience or internships.
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating graphic communication.
  • Proficiency with BIM software; Archicad preferred, training offered for Revit.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
  • Assist with site analysis, planning studies, design research, and material research.
  • Develop BIM models, construction documents, and detail drawings using Archicad.
  • Research green building strategies and emerging technologies; share insights with the team.
  • Prepare client presentations, renderings, and graphics using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Participate in project meetings to coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Support coordination with landscape architects, engineers, and other partners.

What You'll Do

Qualifications
  • Profession degree in architecture, or B.A./B.S with an architecture major
  • 0–4 years of professional architectural experience
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating creative thinking and graphic communication
  • Proficiency with BIM software (Archicad experience preferred; training will be provided for candidates with Revit or other BIM experience)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, with excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
Salary

Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Expected salary range: $62,000–$78,000 annually
