Visionist, Inc. seeks a Junior Database Engineer for the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. Active TS/SCI clearance is required to advance multi-INT processing and secure global maritime data.

You will design and maintain databases, develop software, and collaborate across the lifecycle to support mission-critical defense analytics. The role focuses on enterprise architectures, web-based solutions, and budget-aware project delivery in a government environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• 2 years of experience in database engineering.
• Experience with structured and object-oriented software development.
• Proficiency in enterprise architecture and database design for complex systems.
• Experience with web-based development techniques and BPM.
• Ability to manage budgets, financial tracking, and scheduling tools.
• Knowledge of Multi-INT data processing and surveillance methods.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, install, and maintain complex software systems for Multi-INT processing.
• Develop technical/user documentation and provide system training.
• Apply structured and object-oriented programming with modern tools.
• Collaborate with development teams across the software lifecycle.
• Design database systems and enterprise architectures for ground-based analysis.
• Implement process modeling, BPM, and web-based solutions.
• Build/manage databases for raw data and Multi-INT fusion products.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and financial data to comply with government requirements.
• Maintain MS Access databases to support financial tracking and reporting.
