Overview

Here at OOFOS, we live to make people feel good. We are the leading brand in a category we pioneered over 14 years ago that is vastly growing - recovery footwear. We did this by launching a proprietary foam technology that is scientifically proven to make people feel good in our footwear. This technology is OOfoam™.

We're seeking a motivated junior team member to join our Data Operations team. The Junior Database Administrator & Reporting Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of data that supports business decision-making across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of data operations, cloud infrastructure, and analytics, supporting both the technical foundation of our databases and the reporting solutions used by business teams. In this role, you will maintain cloud-based database environments, develop and optimize reporting dashboards, and partner cross-functionally to translate data into actionable insights. You will work closely with analytics, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, performance, and usability across platforms, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform technologies.

Key Responsibilities
Database Operations & Cloud Support
  • Ensure stable, secure, and scalable cloud database environments that support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Maintain and monitor GCP database environments (Cloud SQL, BigQuery, or similar).
  • Proactively track database health, usage, and performance metrics, escalating risks or anomalies as needed.
  • Support routine database tasks including backups, basic optimization, and monitoring performance metrics.
  • Apply best practices for database security, access controls, and data governance.
  • Deliver accurate, timely reporting and dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards using tools like Looker Studio, PowerBI, or similar BI platforms.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract data for analysis and reporting needs.
  • Translate business questions into clear metrics, visualizations, and insights that are easy for non-technical users to understand.
  • Continuously improve reporting efficiency, automation, and usability based on stakeholder feedback.
Data Quality, Documentation & Process Improvement
  • Protect data integrity and improve how data is managed, documented, and consumed across teams.
  • Support data quality initiatives by identifying inconsistencies, gaps, or anomalies and helping resolve root causes.
  • Document database procedures, reporting processes, and data workflows to improve transparency and scalability.
  • Partner with team members to standardize reporting processes and reduce manual or repetitive work.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions that improve data reliability, efficiency, and overall analytics maturity.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Support data quality initiatives by identifying and helping resolve data inconsistencies.
  • Learn and apply best practices for database security, access control, and data governance.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving data processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts, findings, and recommendations to diverse audiences.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in database administration, data analytics, or related roles.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL (coursework, projects, or internship experience).
  • Experience or familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
  • Some experience with data visualization or reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail, and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and continuously develop technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred
  • Hands‑on experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, or Dataflow.
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts and database design principles.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
  • GCP certifications or demonstrated interest in obtaining them.

  • Brings a strong balance of analytical rigor and merchandising intuition.
