Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) in the United States is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to support data-driven analytics, visualization, and predictive modeling efforts. The Junior Data Scientist supports data-driven analysis and analytics efforts by applying statistical, analytical, and programming techniques to interpret complex datasets and identify meaningful insights. This role works with structured and unstructured data, supports machine learning and data mining activities, and assists with the development of predictive models, visualizations, dashboards, and intelligence support products.
Apply analytical, statistical, and programming techniques to analyze complex datasets and identify meaningful insights.
Support the development and implementation of models, algorithms, and statistical analyses to address business and mission challenges.
Work with large volumes of structured and unstructured data using data analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
Identify patterns, trends, correlations, and other relationships within datasets to support data-driven decision-making.
Apply machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques to support analytical objectives.
Support the development and use of predictive data models and quantitative analysis techniques.
Assist with the visualization of targeted data sources and the development of data visualization products.
Support the development of infographics and dashboards across a variety of media platforms.
Leverage knowledge of databases and data methodologies to identify appropriate data sources, indicators, and relationships.
Support the development of intelligence support packages using available data sources and analytical methodologies.
Assist with organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data to support mission and business requirements.
Apply appropriate data visualization tools and techniques to communicate analytical findings.
Collaborate with senior data scientists, analysts, and technical team members to support data science and analytics initiatives.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One (1) year of relevant professional experience is desired.
Demonstrated ability to work with data and apply analytical, statistical, or programming techniques.
Familiarity with structured and unstructured datasets and basic data analysis methodologies.
Ability to support data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling, and quantitative analysis activities.
Ability to analyze data, identify patterns and relationships, and communicate findings through visualizations and other analytical products.
Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Applicable IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+.
Experience with machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling.
Experience with predictive data models and quantitative analysis.
Experience developing dashboards, infographics, and other data visualization products.
Familiarity with databases, data sources, and data management methodologies.
Experience supporting intelligence analysis or intelligence support products.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and analytical software.
