Job summary

Aramark Sports & Entertainment is seeking a data scientist to turn consumer and operational data into insights for Philadelphia venues. You will analyze purchasing, dining and labor data to uncover customer segments and efficiency opportunities, then build scalable data pipelines and AI-powered applications.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in analytics, strong Python or R and SQL skills, and a solid foundation in statistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, CS, Data Science or related field; equivalent practical experience considered.
• 1–3 years in analytical or data science roles with Python or R.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
• Experience with data science workflows: cleaning, feature engineering, modeling.
• Strong statistics and experimental design knowledge.
• Excellent communication to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Masters degree preferred; experience with Power BI, Streamlit or RShiny is a plus.
• Familiarity with Snowflake and Git is beneficial; AI agent workflows are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze consumer behavior across Philadelphia venues using purchasing and dining data to identify meaningful segments.
• Interpret operational performance by combining labor, POS, and inventory data and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses and define success metrics with cross-functional partners.
• Support automated reporting workflows sharing KPIs with Philadelphia-area stakeholders.
• Develop scalable data pipelines using Python, R, and SQL to improve access and analytics delivery.
• Assist in developing AI-powered applications and agentic workflows to automate tasks and provide recommendations.
• Perform machine learning experiments and model evaluation under the Senior Manager of Data Science.

Must have:

• Were looking for a bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
• Wed like to see 1–3 years of experience in an analytical or data science position.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and transformation with Python or R is required.
• Familiarity with SQL for querying and analyzing data is important.
• We expect knowledge of data science workflows, including data cleaning, feature engineering, and predictive modeling.
• Strong understanding of statistics, experimental design, and core data science principles is needed.
• You should have strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
• Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A masters degree in a quantitative field is preferred.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and app development tools such as Streamlit or RShiny is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Git and version control best practices is a plus.
• Experience building AI agents or agentic workflows is a plus.
