Job summary

McKesson is seeking a junior Data Engineer (ETL/Databricks) to join the Business Operations data engineering team. You will assist in planning, designing, troubleshooting, and documenting data flows between systems and our data warehouse.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of Data Engineering/ETL experience, Databricks, SQL, and Python, with a focus on data quality, security, and scalable pipelines in a cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 2+ years in data engineering.
• 2+ years with Databricks and building data pipelines ingesting customer files.
• 2+ years of SQL experience.
• 2+ years Databricks or similar cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Python.
• Knowledge of structured and unstructured data.
• Understanding of BI concepts and data modeling.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, CloudWatch, EC2) and cloud data warehouses.
• Experience with Git and version control.
• Able to work in an Agile, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest and automate customer-provided files using ETL tools.
• Interface with cross-functional technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
• Explore and implement the latest AWS technologies to enhance data capabilities and efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve data-related issues, providing support and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate across teams to understand business needs and propose data solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering practices.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all stages of the pipeline.
• Document data flows, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
• Support deployment and integration of data solutions into production environments.
• Stay current with industry trends in data engineering and cloud computing.
