Job description

FedTec is seeking a skilled Junior Data Engineer who will support the design, development, and deployment of PowerBI dashboards and PowerApps. This role contributes directly to development tasks, data integration, and user support while collaborating closely with the Senior Data Engineer and project management. The candidate will apply practical experience in dashboard development, PowerPlatform configuration, and data validation to ensure solutions meet operational requirements.

Location: (Remote) based out of Fort Hood, TX

Security Clearance: Verifiable DoD Secret (or higher) required.

Certifications: Must meet DoD 8570 Baseline Certifications (Sec+, Net+, or higher).

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain PowerBI dashboards to support command decision‑making and operational reporting.
  • Configure and support PowerApps solutions to automate workflows and improve end‑user accessibility.
  • Perform data preparation, transformation, and validation to ensure accuracy and reliability of reporting outputs.
  • Work with stakeholders to capture requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver solutions.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of ETL/ELT pipelines and dataflows connecting Army Vantage and other approved data sources.
  • Conduct independent testing and troubleshooting of dashboards, reports, and applications, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Produce technical documentation, metadata, and user guides to support sustainment.
  • Provide Tier II user support for dashboards and apps, resolving issues and escalating complex challenges when necessary.
  • Participate actively in Agile sprint activities, contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews.
  • Assist in training and knowledge transfer to III Corps personnel for long‑term sustainment.
Basic Qualifications – Required Education, Certifications, Skills, And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (Associate’s degree with equivalent experience acceptable).
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or application development.
  • Practical expertise with PowerBI dashboard development and/or PowerApps configuration.
  • Familiarity with SQL, data modeling, and integration tools.
  • Ability to deliver completed solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Minimum Citizenship Status Requirements: US Citizen.
