Job summary

Insight Global in Dallas, TX is seeking a data-oriented software professional to design, develop, and test applications. You will resolve incidents, transform data across systems, and collaborate with business partners to document requirements and objectives.

The role requires Python and SQL proficiency, experience with Snowflake/Databricks or cloud platforms, and a passion for data science and ML. You will build data pipelines, run performance tests, and train users on new tools.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, data science, or similar technical capacity.
• Comfortable writing and troubleshooting code in Python and SQL.
• Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or other cloud-based environments.
• Familiarity with building and supporting data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Interest in data science and machine learning with willingness to continue learning.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across technical and business teams.

Job description

• Assists in the design and development and testing of software applications
• Resolves day-to-day incidents to assure the integrity of the services being provided
• Consume, transform and update data between two or more systems using integration software
• Consults with business partners to create documentation relating to the program definition, development, business requirements. Documentation includes software objectives, deliverables, and end user specifications
• Writes, translates, and codes software scripts, programs and applications according to specifications and end user requirements
• Designs, runs, and monitors software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement. Support in the smooth maintenance of the system 2 and provide data to the end users in a timely manner
• Prepares and writes reports for management and/or team members on the status of assignments
• Trains end users to operate new or modified programs
• Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of development efforts
• Works with external vendors to assure efficient implementation of software products or systems
• Keeps abreast of new and changing technological advances in program languages, utilities, tools, and client/server technology to assure achievement of ETL/Development of reports, so users can make proper decisions

MUST HAVES

• 2-3 years of experience working in software engineering, data engineering, data science, or a similar technical capacity

• Familiarity with building and supporting data pipelines and ETL workflows

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline

NICE TO HAVE

• Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake
• Previous experience with data science or machine learning projects
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or a similar ticketing platform
• Understanding of SDLC processes and software delivery best practices
• Master's degree in a related technical field preferred
