Job summary

Rize Credit Union's Technology & Innovation team is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to build scalable data pipelines, refine data quality, and deliver actionable reports enabling informed decisions across the organization.

You'll collaborate with business partners, implement ETL processes, and develop dashboards using Power BI, SSRS, and Amazon QuickSight, while growing your data engineering skills in a supportive, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or database engineering.
• Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines and working with data warehouses.
• Proficiency with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI, SSRS, or Amazon QuickSight.
• Familiarity with data lakes, cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and data governance practices.
• Experience in financial services is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Python or R is a plus!

• Drive Innovation & Efficiency: Identify opportunities to automate workflows, improve processes, and enhance how we collect, manage, and use data.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate requirements into practical data solutions, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Share Knowledge: Document solutions, support end users, and help team members make the most of our reporting and analytics tools.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who's technically capable, naturally curious, eager to learn, and excited about using data to solve real business challenges.

Your Background & Technical Skills:

Work Arrangement

This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in Irwindale, California, with the flexibility to work 100% remotely.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $40.00 - $53.00

This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable laws. Actual compensation is determined by experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

As part of the hiring process, candidates who receive a contingent offer will undergo a background investigation, which may include employment verification, credit review, criminal records search, Social Security verification, and government registry checks. Candidates must also meet eligibility requirements to be bonded under a fidelity bond.
