Job summary

This role supports containment and recovery, documents findings, tunes rules and dashboards, and collaborates with IT, risk, and operations to align with security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 0–3 years of cybersecurity/IT operations experience.
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts and SOC operations.
• Hands‑on familiarity with SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, or vulnerability scanners.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM and other security tooling to review events and identify suspicious patterns.
• Perform Tier 1 alert triage by validating context, severity, and generating tickets.
• Assist with incident response activities, including gathering evidence and containment support.
• Document investigations with timelines, data sources, actions, and handoffs.
• Maintain familiarity with security technologies and interpret alerts within SOC tools.
• Follow SOC procedures and contribute feedback to improve playbooks and detection.
