Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a cybersecurity architect/engineer to design and develop systems for enterprise-wide cyber networks in Columbia, MD. The role emphasizes vulnerability testing, risk assessment, and incident response within a robust defense program.

The candidate should have Linux, scripting in Bash/Python, and familiarity with DISA STIGs; DoD 8570 and Secret clearance are preferred yet may be required for onsite work in Columbia, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 0 years or HS with 6 years relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of Linux operating system.
• Knowledge of networking.
• Experience with Bash, Python, and Perl scripts.
• Experience with vulnerability scan applications such as SCAP, Nessus, Anchore, SonarQube, and Fortify.
• Familiarity with implementing DISA STIG configurations.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171.
• Able to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance.
• Ability to work onsite in Columbia, MD.
• May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
• Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
• Preferred: software development experience with Python, Java, and C++.
• Preferred: familiarity with Docker containers.
• Preferred: familiarity with eMASS and RMF.
• Preferred: experience working in an agile environment.
• Preferred: demonstrated knowledge of the ATO process.
• Preferred: DoD 8570 baseline certifications such as CompTIA Security+.
• Preferred: active US level Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new cybersecurity systems, applications, and solutions for external customer enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
• Integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructure.
• Design cybersecurity architectural artifacts.
• Proactively identify risks and engineer innovative risk mitigation strategies.
• Define security requirements and conduct risk assessments.
• Perform vulnerability testing/scanning and systems hardening.
• Support incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Collaborate with cyber professionals on mission-driven innovation.
